Davao DeliciousWhy “Davao Delicious”?

Well, I had already started food blogging via my Davao blog, but transferred that activity to this one in November 2007 after I’d acquired DavaoDeli.com. Originally, the domain name was supposed to be for a delicatessen in Davao. When I saw that it was available, I immediately grabbed it — I couldn’t believe my luck! But then, it turned out the proprietors preferred another identity for their Internet presence… Which turned out to be a good thing for me!

One of the first food-related projects that I started, the Davao Food Trip, came about because of my having Davao Delicious. It was an inspired effort, if I do say so myself. Blogie A win-win situation, restaurant owners get to have their establishments promoted, and bloggers get to dine out and have something to write about. Another project that I initiated was the Davao Food Appreciation Tour, which was begun in 2008.

But the bigger winner is my beloved hometown: with more and more down-to- earth content coming out on the Web about Davao City, the better the global image of the Philippine South becomes.
