I’m loving the new in-house app on Facebook called Questions. As soon as I saw it on my account, I ran a couple of polls for Davao Delicious and, as a coffee lover, one of the first ones I did was for the best coffee shop in the city. Here’s the result after 138 votes:
As of blog time, Blugré Coffee is leading the pack with about 40% of the votes. Blugré is Davao City’s very first honest-to-goodness coffee shop, established in the mid- or late 90s, if I’m not mistaken. If you’re familiar with the homegrown blend called durian coffee, it was Gatchi Gatchalian of Blugré who concocted it. Currently, they have three branches in Davao (Landco Corporate Centre, SM City, Matina Town Square) and two in General Santos City.
Bo’s Coffee Club, which has two franchises in the city, comes in second with 20 votes. Basti’s Brew, the first Internet Wi-Fi hotspot in the city, is a close third with 15 votes. Kangaroo Coffee Company and Chicco di Caffe are tied in 4th place, each with 12 votes.
The poll is still ongoing, so you can still cast your vote in case you haven’t yet.
Earlier, I mentioned that I’d also started a poll to get the Dabawenyo taste for pizza. Here’s an updated results box:
As you can see, Picobello is still way ahead, with 161 votes out of a total of 246.
I’ve also posted another question: The BEST Japanese restaurant in Davao? I hope you’ll take the time to let Davao Delicious readers know what you think.
(I do want to apologize, however, because I forgot to include Akiko in the list of Japanese restaurants. Unfortunately, Facebook doesn’t allow editing of posted Questions at the moment. And since I’d already sent out the invitation to vote to so many Facebook friends, I didn’t want to repeat the process for fear of spamming.)
Actually, the very first poll I rolled out was for the best salpicao in Davao — but I did it under my personal Facebook account, not under the Davao Delicious page. Salutti is in the lead. And here’s the link.
There are other food-related polls that I’m already considering. If you have ideas for more, though, do let me know by leaving a comment below.
By the way, have you Liked the Davao Delicious page on Facebook already?
