Cappuccino

If you’re looking for a classy but cozy café in Davao City (or in Tagum, for that matter), Caffe Firenzo just might be the place for you. There are presently two in the city: their first coffee shop is in Lanang, and the newer one is in downtown Davao.

Caffe Firenzo’s brews are alright — their Americano is better than most others’ in town, although it’s a tad pricier for Davao standards. I like the way they prepare my favorite brew, because I can always detect that subtle chocolatey after-taste.

Speaking of price, I find it rather odd that they would price the Caffè Americano higher than their Espresso Con Panna (which, anyway, didn’t taste all that great the one time I had it).

Hungarian Sandwich

The panini at Firenzo are quite satisfying. My favorite is their Hungarian sausage sandwich, which always gives me that hit-the-spot feeling whenever I have it. And at ₱120, it’s practically a steal!

One sandwich that I was craving for, however, didn’t make the grade for me. Their Corned Beef Sandwich (₱60), while it did taste good enough, had too little meat — I wouldn’t mind if they made it a little more expensive as long as they put more meat in the sandwich. The bread that they use, though, is high quality.

If Basti’s Brew is my “office”, Caffe Firenzo is Andrew’s. And I think he’s got a better deal because they don’t charge for Wi-Fi nor for power. Also, both shops have ample space for lounging around, as well as for conducting an intimate business meeting.

Service. Hmmm… I just wish they’d invest just a little bit more in their customer service training. Their staff need to smile a little bit more, I think. wink

I’ve been there a few times na. I love the spinach pizza and strawberry milkshake. I like the place too. You’re right blog, some of the staff needs to be trained. A couple of times that we’ve been there, I’ve notice some of them are not really paying attention to our orders kaya mali-mali ang na-serve.

Yeah, I had the spinach pizza once. It tasted kinda weird, but maybe that’s just me… Huh?!?

Service is not their strong suit — but they really should pay more attention to it. Sayang, maganda pa naman lugar nila.

caffe firenzo’s chocolate truffle cake is super delectable. i’ve been craving for it eversince the first time i’ve tasted it. their service in the downtown branch (near central bank) is better than the one in damosa. i’m not sure if it’s due to the higher traffic count…

I’ve been to your store in SM North Edsa more than twice.. There is no question on the Taste and quality of Lavazza coffee.

But the thing is… Your service is not at par with than brand your carrying.. Your people needs a lot of training on Customer Service And common courtesy.

The reason I say this is of all my visits in your store I have yet to receive a prompt answer at the counter, they seems to be always busy in the kitchen. It’s like the customer is a burden or an interruption to what they are busy with…

They also seem to have “Preferred customers”, I totally understand that you have regular customers that are familiar to them. But for you to be able to build your customer base, you need to also attend to New customers and hopefully convert those to regular customers…

Essentially, what I am saying is… Your staff should be able to learn basic courtesies such as, greeting your customers, at least try to look attentive to their needs, anticipate customers needs…

    Very basic customer service procedures….
