All-you-can eat pizza!

Coco's Coco’s turned out to be not what I had expected it to be. Formerly a so-so seafood restaurant called Regine’s, now it’s the closest to a sports bar Davao has to offer. I don’t know if the owners really meant it to be, but the place has that feel of a sports bar. They do show sports TV shows on their widescreen. That counts, doesn’t it?

Also, the crowd seems to be of the younger set — when I was there last night, most of the patrons looked to be in their early 20s.

Every Friday and Saturday (nighttime only, I assume), Coco’s has an eat-all-you-can pizza deal, for only P80 per person! And beer is just P30 per bottle. My pal, Christian,  told me about this, so I joined his geek gang — Jim, Jude & Chattee –Saturday night.

At first I had my reservations, and was almost going to cancel because of some pending work. You see, I was never impressed with the food when it was still Regine’s, and I was thinking maybe nothing had changed. Good thing I was proven wrong.

Well, the pizza at Coco’s isn’t spectacularly delicious (I still prefer Picobello’s pizzas much better). But, just like Picobello and Pizzaoilo, they make their own dough and the toppings were really tasty. My fave is their double cheese. And for the price, it’s a very welcome treat!

Coco's By the way, I appreciated the service from one of the waiters. I arrived late, so I’d downed only a few pieces of pizza before they ran out of dough. The other waitstaff were just the usual, minding their routines. But this one waiter (I should’ve taken note of his name!), he apologized profusely (even though it wasn’t his fault they ran out of dough), and offered me a plate of pasta to make up for my lack of pizza intake.

I got a generous serving of spaghetti bolognese, and it wasn’t bad at all. The sauce was good, and had plenty of meat.

Coco’s is on F. Torres St., right in front of the Davao Trade & Convention Center. They’re open for lunch and dinner everyday.

I agree with you it seems like a Sports Bar to me. It use to be a favorite and I would eat there once a week. It has changed and in my opinion the change is not for the better.
