Give my posts stars!

Posted on 3 December 2007 by Blogie in General  |  1036 views, 1 today

On a friend’s blog (he happens to be a designer), I saw this nifty WordPress plugin that lets readers leave their mark on blog posts. I thought it was a good idea to have it on Davao Delicious, too.

So, aside from your comments, I’d sure appreciate it if you could rate my posts by giving them stars. It’s really for you to provide immediate feedback about the restaurant, coffee shop, bar, etc. that I’m blogging about.

Update [12 Dec. 2007]

Taking the cue from Mindanao Bob, I’ve figured out how to make the rating stars appear only on posts that feature restaurants, coffee shops, etc. So, please use the rating stars not to rate my posts, but to provide feedback on the restaurants, coffee shops,… even the recipes that I’m featuring. :)

Just so it’s clear:
star = so-so…
starstarstarstarstar = the best!

Another Update [23 Mar. 2008]

My blogs were down for a bit a couple of weeks ago, including this one. Sadly, all the ratings data have been lost… :(   Meaning, all restaurant, coffee shop, etc. posts’ stars are back to zero. Sorry about that. If you feel like it, please go back to your favorite posts and rate the food establishments again. Thanks!

    Hi Blogie – Since this blog is about food and restaurants, is there a way you could set up the star system to be used to rate the restaurant instead of rating your post? For example, if visited a restaurant called “Davao Deli” and did a review, anybody else who visited the place could give their rating of the place. It would be kind of interesting. If people rate your posts… they would mostly just give 4 or 5 stars. If they thought your posts were 1 or 2 star posts, they just wouldn’t read this site any longer. But, if they rated the restaurants, that would give an additional value to your site.

    Not trying to cause a problem… just thought this might add an interesting and unique value to your site!
